The Phoenix is an imaginary bird, which in both ancient Greek and Chinese mythologies, has abilities to resurrect and emerge from the burning fire. It is the most important animal in Chinese folklores.

The crane also has a legendary status. Embodying longevity and peace, it is the second most favored bird symbol after the phoenix.  More romantically, the crane represents long-lasting love and loyalty in marriage. Throughout all of Asia, the crane has been a symbol of happiness and eternal youth. In Japanese, Chinese, and Korean tradition, cranes stand for good fortune and longevity because of its fabled life span of a thousand years.

Shot in Singapore at Bukit Gombak Park, a disused granite quarry, rainwater collected in the depression over time turned the quarry into a lake. The site has been turned into a lifestyle park in the residential district and has the nickname Little Guilin, for its close resemblance to Guilin in China.
