When Couture meets Architecture

The Jewel Gown | Press Release

"Singapore Sustainable Bridal Label create an Art piece ahead of Jewel Opening for London Bridal Week"

The Jewel Gown, featuring elaborate crystal and encrusted rhinestones on the bodice will be showcased from 24-26 March at Excel London. But the limelight of this tierlayered organza ballgown goes to the hand-painted ‘Jewel’ architecture - Singapore’s newest destination at Changi Airport.

Being the first Singaporean bridal label to showcase in London, Giorgia Couture collaborates with renowned fashion artist Artclaytion to incorporate artisanal elements like hand-painting that supports sustainability efforts during the creation process. Designed by Vienna Mei, the Jewel Gown uses Living Coral, a Pantone Colour of the Year, which symbolises our need for optimism and joyful pursuits. As the label’s founder and creative director, Vienna Mei has been dressing royalty, celebrities, elites and fashion bloggers across Asia. ‘Since trends for 2020 are influenced by gems and unique embellishments, we set the theme as Jewel. I am very excited to bring a piece of my country to London. We thought of using the Merlion however, with the same name, the new landmark of Changi Airport is a perfect match for our theme.’ says Vienna Mei.

Founded in 2015, Giorgia Couture is a sustainable bridal label with a vision to create unique and memorable dresses that will be cherished and passed down from generations to generations. Brides love the airy and lightweight designs- the label’s DNA that aims to provide brides with comfort and ease translated into elegance and poise during their lives’ biggest moment.
